Everything started this morning. I was walking to school in a half-asleep state when suddenly something made me stop in my tracks. There was a glowing sphere in the sky—bright and shimmering, shaped like an unidentified flying object. I blinked, rubbed my eyes, and wondered if I was hallucinating. It felt so real.
My mind kept replaying the scene of that glowing sphere. That's why, in the middle of the night, I was still wide awake, staring at the ceiling. My dog, Mr. Left was snoring at the foot of my bed. Suddenly, I heard a buzzing sound, like a swarm of flies. I looked over and saw a creature with smooth skin and huge, anime-style eyes glowing softly with a golden light. It looked like a cross between a Pokémon and a mermaid. It was holding a glowing stick, and even though I had never seen such a creature before, I wasn't scared. But when it saw me, it froze, its eyes widening, and it let out a buzzing sound like a fly. The alien made a series of chirping noises, pointing at its spaceship, which was emitting a faint smoke, and then pointed at the sky. I guessed it was saying, *My vehicle is broken, and I'm stuck here.*
"Alright, alright," I said, raising my hands. "I'll help you, but on one condition: you have to give me a superpower. Like telepathy or the ability to eat pizza without gaining weight. Deal?"
alien stared at me for a moment, then reached out and touched my arm. A warm, tingling sensation spread through my body, and suddenly, I could feel its thoughts. It wasn't exactly language, more like emotions and images. I saw its home planet—a place with floating islands and waterfalls. I felt its fear of being discovered and its gratitude for my help. Then, I clearly heard its voice in my mind: Deal.
"Wait, really?" I laughed. "What power did you give me?"
The alien pointed at a rock on the ground. I focused my attention on it, and to my surprise, it floated into the air. I laughed so hard and almost woke up the neighbors. "This is amazing!" I whispered. "Alright, before the neighbors show up, let's hide your spaceship."
The next morning, things got crazy. I had planned to tell my parents early in the morning, but they woke up earlier than me and had already informed the whole world about the spaceship at our house. I quickly hid the alien in my closet. Reporters surrounded our house, taking pictures of the spaceship, and everyone on social media was posting videos of UFO sightings. Because so many reporters were outside, I focused my attention on them, and they started floating. Everyone, including my parents, thought I was a freak.
Government officials quickly arrived and took me away. They brought me to a lab, and after failing to find any explanation, they decided to dissect me. But I kept thinking, should the alien be captured just because its spaceship broke down? Why can't humans ever accept new things? I also felt sorry for it because I didn't hide its spaceship properly, so I decided not to say anything. Just as the scientists were about to cut me open, the alien and its spaceship appeared outside the lab. Because it had touched me that night, it had learned human language, and it told everyone that it had given me the ability to float and demanded that the scientists release me. After it spoke, the scientists actually let me go. The alien erased everyone's memories except mine, but my floating ability was gone too. It disappeared, and I almost left this world.
